Stop & Think For A Moment About What You Want Out Of Life?

Do You Know What You Want from Life?  Do You Know your true desires?

This may seem quite simple to most of us, but in order for you to live a happy and successful life, it is imperative that you figure out what it is that you want.  Unfortunately, actually knowing the answers is not that easy, although it may sound like it.

When I have asked this question to many people, very few if any will provide me with an answer to what they truly want.  Are you one of those people?  If so, you are most likely overwhelmed with all your responsibilities and duties that you have never taken the time to sit down and put some thought into your wants or desires.

The reality is, when you focus only on the things that you NEED to do, you do not allow time to figure out what you actually WANT to do.  The results conclude that you end up completely disconnecting from who you are and your true self.

Right now, that is all about to change! Do you have patience? Are you willing to step outside your comfort zone? Are you ready for a challenge?  If you answered yes to these questions, you are ready to figure out what you want from life!

Here are 3 practices that Life Coaches use to help clients figure out what they want:

1.  Setting “Me Time” Is A Priority!

Be honest. How often do you actually spend some time alone with no exterior interruptions?  By spending quiet time alone, you gain peace and harmony,  which will give you more energy to make it through your day and to get the most out of life.

A life coach will help guide you to listen to your inner voice and by spending quality time alone you are able to do this.  When you focus on YOU, not your kids, not work, or chores around the house, you are then able to get in tune with your feelings, wants, and desires.  Don’t be surprised if you discover that you have been putting yourself in the backseat for a very long time!

2. Explore Your Brain And Give It A Workout!

If you sit around and just listen to your inner thoughts and feelings, but do nothing about it then it is not beneficial. If you really want to discover what is it you want, you must search and dig deep into that brain of yours.

One of the first things a coach will have you do is brainstorm.  It is important to write down a list of all the things you are good at, all your accomplishments (big and small), then things you have dreamt of doing, but have not gotten to it yet.

For some people this may be a challenge, so just let your mind wander and write down whatever comes up. In time, your mind will begin heading down the right path and may even discover some sort of inspiration coming from out of the blue.

3. Make Your Dreams BIG!

Do you remember when you were a kid all the dreams you had? Okay, well maybe you didn’t end up being a professional athlete, but what about all the others? Maybe you wanted to travel the world? Or Climb Mt. Everest?  Where did those dreams get lost?

Take time to recall your biggest dreams and then begin to expand and come up with new ones.  Come up with those dreams as if you had no limitations as to what you could do. Do not be afraid to let your imagination run wild.  The bigger the better!
