Considering A Start Up? Here’s Some Business Coaching Tips

One of the most common questions asked when someone is embarking on a new business is “Where Do I start?” There are so many things that you can do to get your business started, however, it is easy to allow the overwhelming feelings to take charge and virtually nothing gets achieved or dive head first into a target market where your knowledge of the product and services are limited and again not too much is achieved. Does this sound familiar to you?

The reality is, if you do not know where to start, then start anywhere! Think about it for a moment. If you’re not sure where to start, then there is no wrong place to begin. But, in order to make sure you are getting started in a good spot, there are ways to attack your new business being more strategically and with a plan.

Here are a few tips to ensure you are approaching your new business with an organized plan:

  1. Understanding Your Values

The first thing you should do is personal evaluation. Ask yourself, “what will make your new business successful for you?” You should identify your top 10 values, your life rules and beliefs, and make sure they align with both your personal and professional life. This will make your business more successful. Once you have established this, you will find it much easier to sell your business.

  1. Develop or Create A Mind Map

You should allow time and space to create a mind map of what your new business is going to look like. The mind map will assist in developing your thoughts about the business without any restrictions and you can just create ideas freely.   Write your business name in the middle of a piece of paper, then ask yourself questions, “What will it look like?” Who will be your typical customers?” “How will you handle the finances?” “How will it make you feel?” Just allow your mind to come up with a variety of questions and write down the answers that come to you.

  1. Breed Confidence And Self-Belief

In order to be successful in having your own business, you must be equipped with confidence and believe in yourself. If you lack these skills, the good news is they can be learned! There are many techniques to rid yourself of negative thoughts or self-sabotaging thoughts, and teach yourself to be more positive, self-affirming and confident.   Most importantly recognize your thoughts and write them down, negative and your insecurities. Beside each of these, write down a positive affirmation, by that I mean the exact opposite of those self-sabotaging thoughts. Every time those negative thoughts creep, replace them with the positive affirmations.

You may also start developing self-confidence by taking yourself out of your comfort zone! Just try it!

  1. Developing Your Products And Services

Now that you have begun strategic planning for your new business, it is time to do research. Find out who your competitors are, what they are offering, what they are doing to offer their products and services, and at what value?

Make yourself different! What can you do to make your business stand out?

There are many different ways to market your products and services. Begin to put together several different marketing resources that you can use to get to your customers, but do your best to use cost effective measures.

By utilizing these key steps in developing a strategic marketing plan for your new business, you will be on your way. With each one of the steps you will have unconsciously created action. The action is where the changes take place. Step by step, day by day, weekly, then monthly you will gradually create momentum to get your business off the ground with an organized plan.
